Itinerary of 3 Days Nyungwe Chimpanzee Trekking Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park. Travel time +/-6 hours
- Early morning enjoy your breakfast and checkout of the hotel and drive heading to the western province, on your way visit the Royal Palace Museum in Southern Province and later head for an en route lunch.
- After lunch you head to Nyungwe National Park for over night stay. Accommodation Nyungwe Top View , Hill Hotel (luxury lodge) or Emeraude Hotel (Economy).
- Meal Plan: Half board.
Day 2: Nyungwe Chimpanzee trekking and Tea Experience
- Pick the packed breakfast and leave the hotel for chimpanzee trekking, experience the natural forest of Nyungwe well known for having 13 species of primates, You will be entitled to one hour on finding the chimpanzees.
- In the afternoon, that’s a good opportunity to enjoy the tea experience tour, lean more how to get the final product of tea from the farm to the cup, then proceed to the hotel for overnight relax.
Day 3: Canopy Walkway and Transfer back to Kigali
- On this day after having breakfast, head to Nyungwe National Park reception for a canopy walkway adventure; the canopy walkway is a suspended bridge covering 160 meters through the lush montane rainforest and 70 meters high from the forest ground.
- After this experience Transfer back to Kigali with a stop-over midway in huye for ethnographic museum and lunch.

But the tour guide company’s service was easy and just fine. My guide and driver was Nzirorera Shadady who was extremely chill and helpful and conversational guy who gave me insights into many things about his country. My sneakers was fully submerged in deep mud during the walk and he got someone from the town nearby to clean my shoe completely while we had lunch after the experience. The gorillas? Fidel and his team of porters and trackers were fantastic. We were assigned to a large family of gorillas (24) took about 2hrs to trek to them. It was such a memorable and wonderful experience. The guides/porters really knew how to respect and communicate with the gorillas. I cannot recommend this highly enough.
